How much does it cost to participate?
There is no charge to submit your work. If you are planning to submit a piece, you must first complete the online registration form.
What level of skill do I have to have? Are only professional artists allowed to submit works?
Professionals are certainly encouraged to submit a piece, but the show is open to ALL levels, including kids. However, the work must be inspired by Benbrook’s aeronautic history.
Is this a competition? Are there prizes?
Do I have to be resident of Benbrook to participate?
The show is open to anyone. But, keep in mind that the work must be inspired by Benbrook’s aeronautic history.
How will the pieces be shown?
Works chosen to be exhibited will be printed on an impressive 9-foot-by-7-foot canvas (108 x 84 inches) frame. That means your art will really stand out as folks drive through the exhibit!
What types of media can I use?
Most media is acceptable (acrylic, crayon, pastels, etc.). Just keep in mind that bold, colorful art works best.
How big or small can my artwork be?
Original artwork must be completed on 11" X 17" paper or card stock.
How and where should I submit my work?
Artwork can be scanned and e-mailed, mailed, or dropped by City Hall. If needed, we will work to accommodate special situations to get your art submitted. When you register, you will receive detailed instructions on how to submit your work.
Can I submit more than one piece?
Yes, each participant may submit up to two (2) art pieces. If you plan to submit two pieces, please register separately for each submission.
Will the City exhibit all of the submissions it receives?
Sorry, no: staff will look for a diverse mix of art, created by children, teens, and adults.
Where will the exhibit be located?
Art will be exhibited in the east parking lot of the First Baptist Church of Benbrook, 1015 McKinley Street.
How long will the show run?
The art will be on exhibit daily November 2-14.
What is the entry deadline?
Artwork MUST be submitted by midnight Wednesday, September 30, 2020.
How will I know if my artwork is going to be included in the exhibit?
Artists who are going to be included in the exhibit will be notified prior to the opening of the show.
